We’re delighted to announce that Phosphoros Theatre will be facilitating a one-off acting class here at The Welcoming. Phosphoros are one of the UK’s leading performance companies where refugee and asylum-seekers are key figures in all aspects of production as well as the stars of each show. They use autobiographical performance to shine a light on important untold stories. Their work is collaborative, stripped back and rooted in a desire to offer alternative perspectives.
This summer they’re bringing Pizza Shop Heroes to the Fringe Festival and we’ll be taking a group of Welcoming participants to see the play. Two days later, they will facilitate a free and open acting workshop especially designed for non-native English speakers and everyone -from people that don’t speak English at all to those that are fluent- can take part. No previous acting experience is needed either, and we’d love for you to join us!
The workshop will be on 8th August between 11am and 1pm. Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so don’t be late!
