Please note that there will be no Employment and Business Guidance sessions this week as Leon is on holiday, these sessions will restart on Thursday 14th June. There will also be no Be Your Own Boss session this month.
Saturday 2 June, Book Binding at Creative Space
12-4pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Pop along Creative Space on Saturday 2nd June between 1-3pm for a special workshop on book binding! Learn how to make your own stylish books and notepads from everyday materials. All welcome!
Monday 4 June, Open Book Reading Group
Every Monday, 10-12, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Join us for a weekly reading group, where we explore new authors and stories in a relaxed way together. This is a great way to gain confidence reading English out loud and meeting new people.
Monday 4 June, Pop-up from Festival City Volunteers
12-1pm, first floor at The Welcoming
Are you a fan of the Edinburgh Festivals? Are you interested in being part of them? Then come to Festival City Volunteers’ pop-up stall on the first floor. You’ll get a chance to hear how you can get involved and become an Edinburgh ambassador!
Monday 4 June, Brexit: What you need to know
6-7.30pm at The Welcoming
Brexit: What you need to know is a talk on Brexit led by lawyer and former MP Mark Lazarowicz. This is a great opportunity to understand how Brexit might affect you and what you can do about it. Don’t worry if you can’t make it: we will be live streaming it on Facebook!
Tuesday 5 June, Welcome to Edinburgh
First Tuesday of every month, 12-2pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Join us on Tuesday for our monthly Welcome to Edinburgh session. This is a great chance to get to know The Welcoming, and other services in Edinburgh, and to meet people who are also new to the city. Lunch is provided!
Table Tennis Tuesdays – returning 26 June!
Table Tennis Tuesdays is on a short break, but will be back on teh 26th June with a mini tournament, new volunteers & refreshments.

Jogging Group has moved to a new Wednesday evening time – join us for a gentle run from The Welcoming. New joggers are always welcome, please email[email protected] first to let her know you’re coming and to indicate your level.
Wednesday 6 June, Welcoming Choir
Every Wednesday, 7.20-9pm, Stockbridge Parish Church, Saxe Coburg Street
If you enjoy singing and meeting new people, the choir could be perfect for you! The Welcoming Choir is an international choir, based in the heart of Edinburgh, which brings together newcomers and locals to share and learn new songs together. No experience necessary, all welcome!
