Are you interested in history?
Join us on Wednesday to see an exhibition exploring life and society in Scotland following the end of the First World War in 1918. Meet at The Welcoming at 3pm OR at The National Library of Scotland EH1 1EW at 3:45pm.

Thursday 25th April, Wee Blether
Every Thursday, 3.30-5pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Join our new weekly conversation activity, The Wee Blether! This is a chance to enjoy informal conversations within a small comfortable group. The session is run by volunteers Pirjo and Eva. There will be 8 spaces per week, but you don’t need to book in advance. 

Friday 26th April , Welcoming Lunch
12.15-1.15pm, 1st floor at The Welcoming
Come along to the first floor and join us for a friendly, relaxed lunch. We will have a selection of sandwiches and salads from Pret, we look forward to seeing you all there!

Friday 26th April, Conversation Cafe
1.30-3.30pm, 1st floor at The Welcoming
Join us for our weekly Conversation Cafe! This is a chance to meet new people, and chat with local volunteers. Each week we will have a new topic for activities and discussion. 

Friday 26th April. Welcoming Cinema
Join us for the next edition of the Welcoming Cinema, a free monthly community cinema open to all. In April we’ll be showing the documentary Nae Pasaran with English subtitles. We’ll also be joined by its director Felipe Bustos Sierra for a little Q&A.
Food and drink will be provided and seats will be allocated on a first come, first seated basis. Hope to see you there! 7.30pm at 183 Dalry Road

Friday 26th April, Employment and Business Guidance
There will be an employment guidance and advice service twice weekly on Monday and Friday afternoons during April and May 2019 and will be by appointment only .Welcoming participants who need employment guidance and advice should email Jon Busby [email protected]  to make an appointment for help and advice with the following:finding a job to match their skills and abilities, finding voluntary work to gain work experience,writing a job application or writing a CV preparing for a job interview.

Digital Skills for Arabic Speakers
These classes are delivered in Arabic and English and are a great way to gain confidence with using computers for email, internet, shopping, banking and creating all kinds of documents. Spaces are limited so please call the Welcoming office on 346 8577 or email [email protected] to book your place. 

Saturday 27th April, Creative Space
Every Saturday, 12-4pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Come to Creative Space (every Saturday any time from 12-4pm) for fun and games and of course creative activities! 

Monday 29th April, Cycling for Newcomers
Join us for a 15-25Km ride around Edinburgh. You will need your own bike. Please meet at The Welcoming Reception at 1pm (the ride will last until 4.30pm). You will need to book a space. Please email [email protected]

Every Monday 10.30am-12.30, Oxgangs Library 
Join us for chat and gathering at the library. Children very welcome, arts and crafts planned to keep you busy!

English Climate Challenge Course– BOOK NOW! There are still spaces available.
The Welcoming and Dynamic Earth are happy to announce the return of the English Language: Climate Challenge Course.
This is an interactive experience which will be held at the Dynamic Earth Learning Bases. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about climate change using state of the art facilities.
