Every Saturday, 12-4pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming 
Come to Creative Space (every Saturday 12-4pm) and relax with a variety of activities to help you feel creative.

Digital Skills for Arabic Speakers
These classes are delivered in Arabic and English and are a great way to gain confidence with using computers for email, internet, shopping, banking and creating all kinds of documents. Spaces are limited so please call the Welcoming office on 346 8577 or email [email protected] to book your place. 

Monday 11th March, Open Book Reading Group 
10am-12pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Join us every week as we discover new authors and stories together. This is a lovely way to meet new people and enjoy reading together. 

Monday 11th March, Employment Workshop 
3-5pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming 
Drop in to Leon’s employment workshop for a chat about what support you need with your CV, interview prep or application writing. He will be able to refer you for a 1 to 1 appointment with more support.

Tuesday 12th March, Gym & Swim Session
3-5pm, Leith Victoria Gym & Swimming Pool
Our weekly gym and swim session has a new day! We will meet at Leith Victoria at 3pm (there will not be a meeting point at The Welcoming), for our workout session! Join us to use the gym, or have a relaxing swim, for just £1.

Join us for our weekly games night on the 5th floor! We have a range of activities available, including table tennis, pool and a great selection of board games. 

Wednesday 13th March, Scotland for Newcomers 
Every Wednesday 3pm-5pm. Activity varies each week.
Enjoy an afternoon in the Canongate at this lovely museum. Meet at the People’s Story Museum at 3pm.

Every Wednesday from 7.30-9pm, at St Martin of Tours Episcopal Church on Gorgie Road

Thursday 14th March, Wee Blether
Every Thursday, 3.30-5pm, 5th floor at The Welcoming
Join our new weekly conversation activity, The Wee Blether! This is a chance to enjoy informal conversations within a small comfortable group. The session is run by volunteers Pirjo and Eva. There will be 8 spaces per week, but you don’t need to book in advance. Have you ever been to The Wee Blether? If so we want to hear from you! Join us for our weekly Conversation Cafe! This is a chance to meet new people, and chat with local volunteers. Each week we will have a new topic for activities and discussion.

Activities Outside of The Welcoming
Concert Continental Drift

The concert will be on the 10th of March in Summerhall (EH9 1PL) at 3.30pm.
A collaboration between Scottish Ensemble and Greek and Iranian musicians, fusing their different musical traditions and instruments. The whole event centres around themes of different cultures coming together and creating something really special.

Where are you really from? Theatre Production

7.15pm to 8.30pm at Augustine United Church, 41 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1EL


We have a some FREE tickets for a theatre production ‘Where are you really from?’  an exploration of identity, culture, labels and stories of migration. Sharing the stories of asylum seekers and refugees living in Scotland, what label they are given and how they are treated. The play shows why people leave their home countries, what they face in a new community and how they are treated in a new country.
