Welcoming participant Estrella has written about her experiences with Cycling for Newcomers, the Welcoming’s small cycling group. Estrella has been  key member of the cycling group for the past year and we will miss her very much on our bike rides now that she is returning to Mexico!

Hello, my name is Estrella De La Torre. I’m from Mexico and I want to talk about what it meant for me to have joined the cycling group. Estrella de la Torre

The first day I was kind of nervous, but then, since the very first moment, I felt the support of the volunteers who kindly explained to me how to ride the bicycle in the city and they took care of me all over the ride.

I felt so confident that I eagerly look forward to the next session (the last Monday of every month). Every ride is very special because the guides know a lot of beautiful places and amazing routes to get there.

Every tour is splendid and full of fun, and breath-taking (emotionally and physically).

I think this is the best way to know Edinburgh, because the ‘extra’ of this group is that you can have information about many places while you are passing by. Who could know better than the locals?

For this and much more, I widely recommend all of you to join the cycling group.

There is always a bike waiting for you…
