For this week’s `Scotland for Newcomers` we went to The People`s Story Museum on the Royal Mile and discovered new facts about life in Edinburgh from the 1800s all the way through to 1980s.

Not only did we learn about the history of Edinburgh, we also compared what life would have been like here in Scotland with our participants’ home countries, which this week included Italy, Mexico and Spain.

Lots of interesting and fun discussions were had – the coffee and pints after topped it all off.

Our participants said ‘it was perfect and the coffee after was a good idea’, ‘seeing the differences between men and women [throughout history] was interesting’.

We meet every Wednesday afternoon to visit a new place in Edinburgh. We usually meet at The Welcoming at 3pm, keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for more updates!
